- To start DNA Finger Printing Services in criminal cases rape cases and disputed parentage for the benefit of people of karnataka
- To initiate Karnataka HAP-MAP project to screen the genes involved in Cardio vascular disease and diabetes which are prevalent in this part and to develop preventive measures.
- To establish “Special Cancer Genetics Unit in Research Center for DNA Diagnostics”, where the research work will be conducted on identification of novel mutations in the genes responsible for various types of cancers.
